It's been a little while since we wrote on here but we have some exciting news.

Michael and the gang went to pick up a little springer today.
His name is Peat, he is Chance's brother.
I was driving home from work nervously thinking oh my words what have we done.

BUT when I saw him my heart melted.  love4 love4

I will let Michael post on what they got up to in the trainers field.

Thank you Enid for entrusting the little darling to our care and we will love him to bits.

There's a dog trainer I've known for about 10 years now - she's lovely with the dogs - I stopped off at her place today with Peat and the gang...

Got to see how he was and how he responded, and how he was with the rest of the gang - absolutely no problem whatsoever  Grin

Then we got home - he's settling in just fine and already knows how to jump up onto the sofa and lay next to me... seems like he's a real quick learner  Grin

The initial plan/idea was that he came for a bit of beating.... our "background" is with rescue dogs - Bear only came for 2 weeks but is still with us nearly 9 years later. I must admit, I don't think Peat will be going back to Skye any-time soon, after all, they say possession is 9/10ths of the law and all that.....  Grin

He really is settling in well, and has melted Judith's heart already love4

Nice long relaxed walk tomorrow, will try to get some pics.

I don't think you need the 'possession' play - Sgurr just wants the best for Peat and that's why I'm so glad he is settling in with you - I'm sure you meant it for a joke but it hit a nerve. This Peat is named for my first dog Peat that I lost due to an undetermined health issue at  two years old.  I feel I've just lost his namesake at the same age, although I have made it clear that this Peat has always a home on Skye, just looking for a better situation for him - which I'm sure will have a good chance of working out with Michael and Judith.

A rather sad

You certainly haven't lost your old dog's namesake - he's just staying at a different address for a while...

He'll always be your dog, as is Chance, and thank you very much for entrusting them both with us, we do feel honoured and privileged.

Went for a good walk today, Peat was an absolute treasure :-) Happy, full of energy, he really is a bundle of joy Wink

Took a few pics...

Chance, Peat and pal Brady playing in the heather...

I love this one of Chance and Peat, what intense eyes they have!

Somebody... nicked my snood when I wasn't looking!

He is a handsome happy lad :-)

Roxy taking a break.

Roxy with Bear.

There are some spaniels there if you look closely...

Always smiling :-)

Chance, Brady and Peat, still playing.

"I could do with a drink!"

"Do we have to go back to the van?"

That's all for now...  Cheesy

Fantastic pictures of Peat with his brother and his new chums.

Life at Sgurr must seem very strange and quiet without him and will take a period of adjustment, but perhaps you should think of him as a student off on his gap year.   Wink
