Bella is 15 months old  We've just moved from Devon to Norfolk, and were so proud when her new vet said "She's perfect! And so beautiful! Bella's going to be spayed on Tuesday (she has a little hernia) and we're concerned about the collar she'll have to wear. We've bought a comfy collar, but

Aww Harry sounded amazing & he will never be replaced, I know  :love4:

I remember the painful 2 weeks of no walks & then lead walks.  Harveydogs suggestions are great, helps work the mind & will help her settle  :love4:

Hello! Sorry about the delay, just catching up on all the messages. I am in Wymondham so quite close!

Alfs favourite walks in Norfolk are:
- Wells pine woods (or beach, or both, whichever you prefer). You can walk right along to holkham beach (my absolute favourite) and then have lunch at the Victoria which is dog friendly.
- The UEA grounds. There is a lake, a river and acres of woods and fields. You can also walk through to Earlham Park from there.
- The Marriott way, we particularly like the part from Reepham and the Thelmelthorpe loop
- Blickling Hall- the Park is lovely, we go around by the tower and mausoleum. You can also walk around the lake but dogs have to be on a lead in that part. They do sometimes have cattle grazing but itís well signed. The pub (Buckinghamshire arms I think) is dog friendly and very good food. And the hall itself is worth a visit but doesnít allow dogs. Aylsham is nice for a potter around too.
- Caistor St Edmunds is interesting for the Roman history and open space. I usually take an OS map and make a walk from the footpaths
- Holt country park (although mostly I must admit I go to holt because itís pretty and quaint rather than for the dog walking!)

Our usual walks are at The Lizard in Wymondham or the UEA.

Hope that provides some inspiration! We are always looking for new places to go so let me know what you find on your travels!

The only other thing I meant to mention is watch out for ticks in thetford forest area. There and the river tiffey are the only places in the area weíve ever picked any up!

Thanks for the žnfo Kate. Bella, fully recovered, had her first 'walk' off the lead yesterday. On the long  walk going NW out of Hingham....she just went!  Across those huge fields full tilt, till she was just a white spec in the distance....she's never done that! And back, said, 'phew, I needed that!' We were disappointed at the Lizard, traffic noise, but love the walk along the  Little Ouse river at Stanton Downham, if you don't mind a little drive. We'll try out your other suggestions, thank you, and would like to wish you a very good Christmas...gotta go, Bella seems to be making off with one of Penny's new leather gloves!
