Bella is 15 months old  We've just moved from Devon to Norfolk, and were so proud when her new vet said "She's perfect! And so beautiful! Bella's going to be spayed on Tuesday (she has a little hernia) and we're concerned about the collar she'll have to wear. We've bought a comfy collar, but

Fireworks
« on: November 03, 2018, 01:17:19 PM »
Hi All,

I shared this on FB but for anyone who isnít aware Classic FM are broadcasting a show tonight 7pm - 9pm especially for dogs.

https://www.classicfm.com/music-news/battersea-pet-sounds-bill-turnbull/

Itís music has been put together to help keep dogs calm to coincide with what is likely to be a busy firework night  :-\

Fortunately Hollie is not bothered by them, we had lots going off last night & Kensi jumped up a few times & looked around but then wasnít bothered.  We turned the sound off the telly several times so they could really hear them & again all ok.  We are out tonight for a meal, not good planning on my part so have just tuned the radio in to Classic so we can leave it on.

Just thought it might help some people.

Ta
Fiona
Fiona, Hollie & Kensi!

Thank you  for that Fiona, might well  be tuning in too I think just to give it a try.

It just gets to me that the fireworks start days before and go on for days after.

Rosie hates them and paces about barking. We have fitted her with an Adaptil collar this year, and last night (fireworks ) she seemed a bit calmer. Hoping it wasn't a fluke and tonight won't be too stressful.

Good luck to all with nervous pets tonight  :love4:

PS Hope you enjoy your meal  :)

over here our fireworks night , 31st october, has passed. I hate the sight of it & New Years Eve, dogs & cats terrified, dogs bolting & ending up lost or worse still... Cindy & now Harry, wouldn't bat an eyelid, poor Sam was 'gunshy' & a twit of a neighbour, let off a 'banger' over my back garden, Sam hurdled the wall , my late Dad took the car & I went thru the small lane at back of house, thankfully caught him before he got to the main road. I had 'a few words' with the idiotic neighbour, fireworks are still illegal in Ireland, never did it again. People that knowingly set these things off near animals, really make my blood boil. I do hope all your hairy friends get over bonfire night peacefully

It's made Rosie scared of gunfire, the fireworks a year ago were so bad here.

We are fairly near to a big estate and they have regular shooting parties, she never used to bother with it before. After the bout of fireworks and the shooting began to frighten her she nearly bolted as we were walking back home through fields, I had to approach her so carefully in case she ran! It's sometimes difficult to avoid because the wind carries the noise around most of our walking areas. I'm constantly alert.

All our firework displays have cancelled last due to the weather. Bessie and Arthur will probably search the house for birds  :023 luckily we are no where near anyone that fires them :)

Hope everyoneís dogs are ok!!!
