Bella is 15 months old  We've just moved from Devon to Norfolk, and were so proud when her new vet said "She's perfect! And so beautiful! Bella's going to be spayed on Tuesday (she has a little hernia) and we're concerned about the collar she'll have to wear. We've bought a comfy collar, but

every springer I owned hurted a front leg at some stage. Sam was worst, he used to chase crows in local race course, did catch a few, diving into a 5 ft drainage ditch that went round the course. Only the course rises & move to left coming to the finish line & the drop to ditch is an extra 6ft, Sam leaped after a crow & fell 11 ft to bottom of ditch, how he survived I don't know, he emerged holding left front paw in air, badly sprained, but the front legs aren't weight bearing as such. So hopefully Finns injury will resolve soon, I'd try & rest him as said or even reduce the walk, tho the sand on your nearby beach should help, can't let Harry near a beach, he doesn't like seagulls, I posted a thread about it last year, kept clear  of the beach after his antics, & it's a pity because I'm surrounded by beaches, over here

Today was D-Day for Harry, his first (shortened)walk in 13 days. We only did 20 mins in the forest & he got 5 mins for swim time. All was good during his walk, which is a term used loosely, he was frenetic, no sign of limp. After we came home, fed watered , and a snooze, this was my concern, all was good, still no limp. So far, so good, my Aunts friend is a vet & she keeps Springers herself. She had a quick look at him earlier this week, she was happy with him, but suggested, gradual increase over a few weeks, just in case it was a cruciate issue, she met him in my aunts house, not a surgery, an informal consultation so to speak, all that was bothering Harry was he couldn't get out into my Aunts back yard, so he could climb up on the roof of her back kitchen, as he so likes to do.....

A further update, 14 days on all good, Harry's moving fine. On Monday I'm going to try his full walk, I've no reason not to given what I've seen so far, & he's getting a bit impatient on the shorter route,so back to normal then, if normal exists in  the Springerverse  ;D
